What is Venixxa™?
Venixxa™ is an oral treatment option that helps to relieve signs and symptoms of mild-to-moderate chronic venous disease (CVD), such as varicose and spider veins, leg pain, sensation of heaviness, sensation of swelling, and functional discomfort. It also helps to reduce lower-leg edema associated with mild-to-moderate chronic venous disease.
What are the active ingredients in Venixxa™?
Venixxa™ is a micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF); a unique formulation, naturally extracted from oranges. MPFF has been available in Europe for over 40 years and is well established as an effective medication in the management of symptoms associated with CVD. It is the only oral medication recommended by the European Venous Forum. Although other over-the-counter medications claim to have similar ingredients, the processing and preparation of the MPFF formulation is unique. As a result of the micronization and purification steps that are unique to Venixxa, MPFF demonstrates higher absorption in the gut, increased availability of its active ingredients in the body and lower side effects.
Can everyone take Venixxa™?
Venixxa™ can be taken when varicose veins are present. Varicose veins are a sign of chronic venous disease. Consult your doctor to discuss further measures and treatment methods if necessary.
Venixxa™ is well tolerated. Possible side effects include hypersensitivity/allergy, gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, headaches, and skin reactions. Do not use Venixxa™ if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a healthcare professional if you are taking any prescription medications or if you experience inflammation of the skin, thrombophlebitis or subcutaneous induration, severe pain, ulcers, sudden swelling of one or both legs, cardiac or renal insufficiency or disorder. Consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.
Venixxa™ is taken twice daily: midday and evening with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
Do I need a prescription for Venixxa™?
You do not require a prescription to purchase Venixxa™. Venixxa™ is available over the counter at the pharmacy. If you cannot find it, your pharmacist can order it for you.
